Key for Book Trades & Swaps
PM me about any book you are interested in, maybe I read it already, will read it sooner, or we can work out a trade. I'll even trade from my Private Collection for the right book. My thoughts on books, when a book leaves my hands its gone, and out of my control.
You can keep it, trade it, swap it, share it, wild release it,
collect it, whatever you'd like...please also allow me to have the freedom to do what I wish with any book, I accept, its only fair. thanks.
Available = Available for Trade or Release
To Be Read = I haven't read it yet, and I may want to keep if afterwards, or have someone in mind to send it to when I'm done with it. Please do not ask for TBRs as Rabck's, I might consider a swap for the right book though...
Permanent Collection = Means either that I cannot possibly stand to let this one go, or it will make the rounds of all my non-bookcrossing friends and I might never see or hear from it ever again.
Reserved = Means this book is spoken for and is not open to send to anyone but the person who asked for it.
RABCK= Random Act of Book Crossing Kindness, Please do not ask for Rabck's,
I don't have the funds to mail books all over, to anyone whom asks. I do it when, it seems proper and I have a little extra cash (not as often as I would like). Go ahead and ask, if you live in the USA.
Swap or Trade = I love to swap and trade for books I'm interested in as often as possible, usually on a 1 for 1 or a 3 for 3 basis. This keeps everybody, happy.
One-Way Trades = Hmmm got nothing on your bookshelf I want, but you still want to read the book I have....I do One-Way Trades, but due to the large number of requests for them I require you to read my shipping notes for one way trades, and follow the
instructions, this places the responsibility for the book(s) you want in your hands, and not on my sorry pocket book. I wish, I could RABCK everyone, but I can't. Nuff said.
Shipping of Books USA & Canada Note:
I love to trade for books, locally. so if you see a book I have and you want it PM me, maybe I can find something on your bookself. I ship third class media mail, on average it costs about 2.00 to mail the average paperback book anywhere in the United States,
Canada is only 4.00 an average sized book. Oversized, & multiple volume hardcover books will be more, to reflect their actual shipping costs.
What is PBS?
PBS is another book trading website similiar to bookcrossing, but it is limited to the USA only,
and it requires a credit system of books listed and traded. In order to operate. www. paper back swap .com They claim free membership, but reserve the right to charge membership fees at some future date.
Books traded on this system are Free, the shipper pays the postage, and the operator of the website will sell you credits to trade for someone elses books (1 credit) or audio books (2 credits). Its an interesting concept, I don't know how well it will work
long term.
What is Book Relay.com?
Book relay dot com is another book trading website similar to bookcrossing.com that has lists of
books that people will mail you, if you offer to do the same It REQUIRES a bookcrossing book with
registration number in order to trade a book. This system compliments bookcrossing.com and enhances the potential for trades.
Shipping of International Books & One-Way Trades
If you live in Tehran, Timbuktu, Outer Mongolia, or another lost corner of the world. I'll send you a book, but only if you send me the shipping costs, I'm not rich, wish I was, donations to this noble cause are being cheerfully accepted. I can be paid the
cost only of shipping books to you via the Paypal.com website instantly, so you can have your book shipped faster than buying them from Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble. I do trade for weird things that can be found only in your corner of the world, I've got this
great tribal mask from Bahli, a piece of red rock from Colorado, a fugurite (Fossilized Lightning) and a bamboo xylophone from Africa. I collect beer labels, beer coasters, and beer caps, from around the world, they only cost 39 cents to mail so, be creative!
The more creative the more likely I'll eat the shipping costs for you entirely, Thanks for visiting my bookshelf.
If you don't see it ask, I have lots (thousands) of books I haven't had time to list yet. I will ship your book in the most economical method possible, but I cannot pay out of my pocket to send it to you. Send me something strange and new, I might then eat
the shipping charges for you!
