Extended Profile
I've been living in Laos for thirteen years. That's pretty good, considering that I originally intended to stay for six months.
I'm also involved in interesting work - upgrading the medical services in province and district hospitals in provinces where there is a lot of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and landmines. My project also helps people injured in the accidents through funding the treatment and aftercare. From 1996 through 2004 I lived in Xieng Khouang Province with a lot of travel to Houaphan Province. In 2006, I moved to Salavan Province, with lots of work at the regional hospital in Pakse.
When I'm not working, I've been studying public health through a distance learning program. I also write science fiction and regular fiction, mostly for my own entertainment. I also like to bicycle, study Asian languages, travel. And READ, of course!
