PLEASE NOTE: I have recently moved to Oakland, CA. If you are mailing me a book, please make sure that you have the new address! And for those of you whom I owe books that got side-tracked during the move, please rest assured that they are on their way soon!

I am a bookcrosser because I love the serendipity of it all. I love to leave a book on a park bench, wish it luck, and even if it's not journaled, I can wonder about where it has traveled -- and hopefully, people will turn off their TVs to read, and will take the time to consciously share these books with each other. It's a different form of community, a lovely form of altruism and giving. I really do love this site.

As for our own BCing community, I am also eager to trade and discuss amongst ourselves. I really enjoy bookrings and trades, because I love to see different people's impressions of the books -- what touched them, what they absolutely detested, and why. So, yes, if you'd like one of my AVL books (or even some of the TBRs), I would be happy to trade ... although my wallet only permits me to do so within the US at this point. Also, please note that this Bookshelf is not a true reflection of my reading tastes -- for that, you can see my "Books Read This Year" list, which is below. I purchase many of the books on this shelf with BCing in mind.

I finally made a Wish List! (thanks, cliff!) My Wish List

Wild Release Books that Have Been Caught and Journalled: 1 out of 36
(oh, that's so sad!)

A link to a cute verse, from The Cat in the Hat, to write on the inside of wild-release books. Hopefully, so more people will journal them! :)

I have decided to join a Bookcrossing Challenge for 2005 (more details here). This involves reading books by 52 new-to-me authors, organized by letters of the alphabet (26 books by A-Z authors, and 26 books A-Z by title, but still all new-to-me authors). The books listed here are just to give me ideas, and please send me your ideas as well; the books in red are completed. I would love to make this a more diverse and multi-cultural reading list -- any ideas for great reads?
