Thomas Jefferson said to John Adams in 1815:
"I cannot live without books."
Nor could I.
Welcome to my bookshelf.

What I'm Reading Now:

My dear Mother has end stage congestive heart failure plus end stage kidney failure. I was told by her doctor on Nov. 21, 2008 that she probably has 3 months left.
If anyone would like to help cheer her up with a card or a pretty postcard , I would sincerely appreciate it.
Thank You.
UPDATE: May 2010
Mom is still with us which proves that Doctors don't know everything.
He recently put her on a morphine patch for the pain that she suffers daily.
Along with the patch she also takes pain pills. Along with a handful of other pills throughout the day.
Postcards, thinking of you type cards and notes are still sincerely appreciated.
Mom loves receiving anything that isn't another hospital or doctor bill.
Again, Thank you all for your kindness.

Update: December 6, 2012

Momma fell this morning and broke her hip.
Surgery tomorrow. Weak and weighing 83 pounds, the doctors aren't sure she will make it through this. Prayers please and thank you all for your support over these very hard years.

Update 2-17-2014

Rest In Peace My Sweet Little Momma.
I will miss you forever ....

My favourite journal entry:

I saw a picher of a naked lady on page 26. (Kyle)

(Note from Kyle's teacher: "What an observant boy! It's a three-inch sketch of the Roman goddess Venus emerging from a scallop shell. But it caused such chaos in our second grade classroom, Venus now wears a modest Magic-Marker swimsuit.)

I'd sent an educational book, Fossil (Eyewitness Books), to the oakcrest-eagles to add to their collection of Dino books.
I was completely unaware that there is (was) a nekkid lady on page 26.
Thank you, Kyle, for pointing that out to everyone and thank you Kyle's teacher for your Magic-Marker.

Hellcatraz: the Rock of Despair - Roy Gardner

Books are kind of like a mixed box of chocolates,
you don't know if you're going to like the one you picked until you bite into it. :D

Thanks Cliff.

Please don't send me emails or postal letters asking me to join a Book Chain.
I am not at all interested.
Thank you.
