Extended Profile
All of the books on my book shelf are available for trade or release. Books that I love, but can't part with, will not be listed unless I can locate inexpensive copies to share.

Update 4/29/03: Finished reading The Collected Stories of Colette and Diane Ackerman's Cultivating Delight: A Natural History of My Garden.

Update 4/2/03: Finished Quincunx Sunday night. Whew! Good thing my husband was out of town...nothing much got done around here. Read the The Thief Lord Mon. night--enjoyable children's lit.

Currently reading Quincunx which, initially, I thought would take me a week or more (it is a doorstop of a book), but I sat enthralled yesterday-although carrying on a running commentary in my head about coincidences-for hour after hour, unable to find a good place to stop.

Shinju by Laura Joh Rowland, interesting and enjoyable mystery set in 17th c. Japan.

Alice Hoffman's The River King--readable, but typical Hoffman.

Lost and Found
, a wonderful and horrifying look at a country animal shelter.

Women of the Silk is a lovely book with an enlightening view of China before the Japanese invasion.

The Romance Reader by Pearl Abraham. Excellent.

The Emperor of Ocean Park a nice, thick mystery/legal thriller by Stephen J. Clark. I liked Clark's writing and characterization.

A Pawn for a Queen by Fiona Buckley - an Elizabethan mystery. Have read most of Buckley's mysteries and find them entertaining and quick reads.

The Sudden Weight of Snow (thanks N8an and Idioteqnician).
