Extended Profile
I have stumbled across the fact that I misremembered the story of the guy in the picture. He did NOT kill his wife. He killed his wife's lover -- she had the lover's child and passed it off as this guy's own offspring. He was acquitted on account of temporary
insanity brought on by a head injury he suffered years prior. He's been
backup catcher/utility infielder for the
Bhutan Vanguards team of interesting artists and photographers in the
Cosmic Baseball Association.
My story starts in Seattle, and seems a little stalled here in Iowa City, with a few chapters in Toowoomba, QLD, Olympia, WA (The Evergreen State College), and Williamsburg, VA.
I used to develop software in a building within one block of Iowa's worst disc golf course. I am now working on my PhD in Management Sciences. I also tend to hang out with Historians and American Studies types.
Another spiffy book(story)-related site is Alexandria Digital Literature -- it's an automatic recommender. When it is working. It's a little flaky, and sf-biased, but it is a lot of fun. Basically, you tell it what you like, and it offers "suggestions." They also sell SF/Fantasy/Horror short stories. I recommend "Elvis Bearpaw's Luck" by William Sanders.
