Extended Profile

Hi! I am an aquatic biologist in Austin, Texas, and enjoy the outdoors. My current work involves drinking water quality for the state of Texas. I volunteer with several non-profit organizations in Central Texas, including Texas Master Naturalists, Capital Area Chapter, Sierra Club, and Girlstart. When I am not spending my free time in environmental education, I enjoy hanging out with my computer geek friends, watching movies and brewing beer.

I have always been an avid book reader, and remember vividly weekly trips to our local library as a kid, and anxiously awaiting my Scholastic Books orders. My first fundraiser was a readathon in fifth grade for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. My sponsors had to dig deep in their pockets for that one!

I came across a freed book while at the Ginger Man in Austin, for a Blue Dog Rescue benefit. Glad to finally be a full-fledged member with my first releases to be this week! Hope to make it to a Meetup with fellow members.
