Extended Profile

I'm Kirsty, a born and bred Coaster (that's the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand) and currently live in Central Auckland with my wonderful partner Erik/earok

I've been into books since I was very little, I was the kid who had their mother tell them to put down the book.. or 'don't read in the dark, you'll ruin your eyesight!'

I like humourous books that make me laugh, books about animals (especially cats!), music, travel, GLBT fiction and non-fiction, biographies... I'm starting to get into fantasy a bit. I like reading a lot of young adult/teen fiction and kids books.
I'll give most books a try though.

As well as reading I'm also really into music. Other interests of mine include writing, photography, video games, cooking, sleeping, riding my moped (which was left in Greymouth), walking, travel and spending time with my friends and family. The cute picture on my profile is of my cat Cola, who stayed back with my family in Greymouth. I miss him.

I get a lot of books for the purpose of wild releasing so my registered books don't always reflect my personal taste in reading, since 2007 I have kept a list of what I have been reading on my BookCrossing bookshelf.

I'm interested in trades so if there is anything in my bookshelf that is avaliable (set by me) that you would like send me a PM. If there is anything that is marked TBR that you would like send a PM and I'll move it up in the pile (though a few of my TBR books might end up as Permanent Collection books). There is some books that due to their size I can only send within NZ but I will say so in their journal entries.
Note: Some of my availables are still in Greymouth but I will be able to get them when I visit. If it is one that you want I'll let you know

Am also starting to register some of the books in my permanent collection. I don't mind loaning some of these ones out though some I will only loan out to people in New Zealand etc. If I do loan you a permanent collection book could you please journal what you thought of it before you send it back.

Thought I'd start my wishlist though I'll be adding more books to it when I can think of which ones I'm after. If you would like something from my bookshelf but don't have anything off my wishlist to trade PM me anyway as chances are I'll find something off your bookshelf that I'll swap for.

I'm listed on RABCK.com with my up-to-date address.

I've attended two BookCrossing conventions so far, Wellington and Melbourne. I will be in Christchurch in 2009 (discoverylover has said that she'll hurt me if I don't!)

Auckland BookCrossers meet twice a month. Find out more at Auckland_BC
