Extended Profile
This is what I have been waiting for all of my life - I just didn't know it!
Apart from all my own books, friends and family pass used books on to me to sell for a Greyhound Rescue Charity. I sell through ebay, and there comes a point when it is not economic to keep them in the shop. Now instead of taking them to the charity shop (or maybe as well as taking them to the charity shop)I can let them loose on the world.
22.5.2004. I have today set up an OFFICIAL BOOKCROSSING ZONE which has it's own BC identity - DFCUfriends. Check it out at 1a LEYS ROAD, BENNETTS END, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, HERTS, ENGLAND. Situated adjacent to the pedestrian crossing from Bennetts Gate shops, on the front of the Community Centre and beside the Green Acres Public House; the office is open at the following times - Mon 7pm - 8pm, Tues - Fri 12noon - 4pm, and Sat 9am - 10.30am. This is where my donated books can be found from now on.
3.7.2004. The Book Zone has grown so large that it has spread to the foyer of the Community Centre where a bookshelf can be found on the left just inside the main doors. The Community Centre is open every week day, and at some other times.
It is going to take me ages to get this page just right so for starters here is my current wish list:
Richard Morgan, most titles.
Terry Pratchet, most titles.
Ian Rankin, most titles.
C S Forrester, Death to the French. This last is a book my Dad has been seeking for many years. It is the only CSF he has not read. The whole family scours second hand book shops for him as he is 80 now and not so well as he was. I would dearly love to be able to present him with a copy! (FOUND IT! I've managed to get this on eBay for a snip, thanks to Mrsauk who pointed me in the right direction. Now, do I save it for Fathers Day, or give it to him when I see him tomorrow? Watch this space) - Ofcourse I gave it to him straight away, and he was thrilled!

Over 1,000 bookz have now been released through the BookCrossing Zone!
Recommendations: books I have read recently that are really worth recommending.
THE CLEARING BY TIM GAUTREAUX - a beautifully written book about the actions we take and decisions we make, and how they echo on throughout our lives. Well drawn characters and a setting that is obviously much-loved by the author, plus intelligent writing that never patronises the reader by spelling too much out. The first book that I have ever given 10 out of 10!
