Extended Profile
April 2012: Trying to whittle down Mt. TBR and my wishlist. Trying to send books on their way to others. I think I'm done running rings and rays for the time being. Will continue to register books and bookcross, though. I tend to like to do RABCKs
when I finish a book. Thanks for visiting.
The wishlist on this site is as up-to-date as I can make it. Yes, I have been wishing for books since 2004. If they are the list, I still want them. I do go through and take off books I don't think I'll ever read or I have gotten.
I am trying to update my photo regularly. Although, they seem to lose a lot in the shrinking. Current photo is January 2012 while sitting in a mock space capsule.
Over the past 6 years, I have had periods of high bookcrossing activity and low bookcrossing activity. Currently I am a post-doc working at UW (a PhD physical chemist.) Besides that, I am married with two children (see jonemi's bookshelf), and two dogs and
a lizard besides. Needless to add, I am very busy. I try very hard to read ring and ray books within one month and send them on. I understand if someone has put me on their "blacklist."
I do sometimes get so busy I forget to reply to PM's. If you have not heard back from me in one week, please politely resend. Either I did not receive it (which has been known to happen) or I forgot to respond. I do not read the forums regularly. In fact, I'm
there every few months, if that. I will not see posts trying to get my attention unless someone else points them out to me. I sometimes post, mostly for rings/rays. I do check back on my own posts every so often. Anyway, I'm sorry its such a pain to get ahold
of me.
My Offered Bookrings!
I offered up the Black Jewels Trilogy Omnibus (all 3 books in one volume) by Anne Bishop for a bookring. Because the Omnibus has been stuck, I am sending the trilogy in the 3 separate books that I have. I have altered the bookring list to reflect this for
Daughter of the Blood,
Heir to the Shadows, and
Queen of the Darkness. (Because I could stand it no longer, I ordered myself another Omnibus and turned the three book ring into a ray.) I will accept new members until it reaches its last member.
(6/28/06) Godslayer Volume II of the Sundering Duology by Jacqueline Carey. International, relaxed ray. PM to join, will remain open until it reaches its last reader.
(6/13/10) It's been awhile since I've done a book ray, but I'm offering a spiral of Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books, the basis of the current series, TrueBlood. I will start with
Dead Until Dark and follow with each of the books:
Living Dead in Dallas,
Club Dead, Dead to the World,
Dead as a Doornail,
Definitely Dead, All Together Dead,
From Dead to Worse,
Collection: A Touch of Dead,
Dead and Gone, Dead in the Family, Dead Reckoning (waiting ppb release - hardcover 5/3/11) . I will continue with paperback books released in the future if members of the spiral are still interested.
Completed (These have returned home or ended at their last ray person):
Kushiel's Dart,
Kushiel's Chosen,
Kushiel's Avatar
Banewreaker
Shadow Puppets
Micah
The Legend of Nightfall
I also have a book review journal for those books I cannot register on bookcrossing.

Thoughts on books read in 2005
In all actuality, I have wild released tons of books. OK, I used to track this number, especially before BC tried to distinguish between wild and controlled releases. I've long lost track due to the mass moving of books out of my possession in the last year.
My first catch ever is
Bloodsucking Fiends. And he joined! Although he used me as a friend, but not a referral. Catch rate: 7/46. (The second one was 4 months after release!) I did a bulk release of 8 books in honor of my group training sessions when I participated in the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program in spring 2008. When I wild release, and/or get a catch, I'll try update this number. The rest of the releases have been rings/rays, CheshireKat trades, and RABCKs.
I do reviews of books on epinions.com and IListenToBooks.com under the same screenname but you'll see all those reviews here, too.
I currently twitter as fiainros. You can find me on facebook.
Now that I've so eloquently expressed my geekiness, enjoy the rest of bookcrossing.
