It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

I read about BookCrossing in the Review section of The Weekend Australian last weekend (9-10 August 2003) and thought it was an interesting concept. I have always hoarded books (most bought secondhand at Cooks Hill Secondhand Books in Newcastle) and I just pile them on top of each other on the floor now that the bookshelves are all full. After reading the article I decided to check out the website. It seems fun, so I have joined. I am contemplating which book to release first, but since the screen name I have chosen is one of the main characters from my favourite book: 'Betty Blue' (37,2C le matin, in its original French title) by Philippe Djian, it may well be that book. My other thought is for Hemmingways 'A Moveable Feast', my second favourite book.

You can see I chose Dai Sijie's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress to be my first release. The decision to release this one first was arbitrary. It's the book I just finished reading. I'm not ready to let my well worn copy of Betty Blue go into the wild just yet.
I'll update the journal next weekend to advise how Balzac went.
