Extended Profile
I'm a displaced New York City geek, having adventures in Scotland. I live in Edinburgh with my fiance and my herb garden, making up stories in my head while I work at my 9-5, singing folk songs while I cycle down cobbled hills and generally making a nuisance of myself.

Recommendations of fairy tale books are particularly appreciated. I'm also devouring everything I can get my hands on which talks about gardening and self-sufficiency.

I've been registered on this site for years, having come across it and thought it was a great idea, but only recently started actually doing anything with it. In the summer of 2011 I moved flat thrice, each time by hand, and it made me appreciate not having a lot of belongings! I've given away nearly all my books, and I love it.

Any Bookcrossing books I receive will be passed on soon after I've read them, to help me keep to my resolution of owning only one bookshelf. So if I have something listed as Available and you want it, I'd be happy to send it to you, but move quick!

As of June 2012, I'm going to keep a list of everything I'm reading (and listening to - I do a lot of audiobooks). I've already read a lot this year, so it's going to be pieced-together from memory, to a point...

Read in 2012:
1. The Blade Itself, by Joe Abercrombie
2. The Crimson Petal & The White, by Michel Faber
3. Orcs, by Stan Nicholls
4. America's Women, by Gail Collins (twice! so good! - nope, make that three times as of July)
5. The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern
6. Vampires: The Recent Undead, by various authors
7. A Night in the Lonesome October, by Roger Zelazny
8. How to be a Woman, by Caitlin Moran
9. The Fairy Godmother, by Mercedes Lackey
10. Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott
11-18. All the Harry Potter books... again... they are my standby audiobooks because I know them so well!
19. The White Queen, by Phillipa Gregory
20. Female Chauvinist Pigs, by Ariel Levy
21. Warriors (a collection of short stories), by various authors
22. One Good Knight, by Mercedes Lackey
23. Dead Until Dark, by Charlaine Harris
