LITERACY PROJECT, BEGINNING SAMHAIN, 2007
At the end of October, 2007, I began collecting books for two sites in Africa (thanks to KarenBC for the inspiration!) and planned to send them packages once a month. Because postage was outrageously high, that didn't work out as planned, so I am trying to
work out a more reasonable schedule for each. If you would like to contribute books to either project, below are the types of books each will accept. You can send them to me (I'm on www.RABCK.com), marked "Literacy Project" on the package.

As for me, I'm what you might call an eclectic Pagan. I dabble in a little bit of everything non-Christian (and yet still have a fondness for Mary, Joel Osteen, and Christian ritual); I used to be polytheistic, but lately I'm leaning toward the idea that everything
we believe about gods are cultural myth. I'm actively exploring atheism and secular humanism and, although I was raised a very active Protestant, I am very at-home with Judaism. LOL
Bookcrossing is but one of my passions. I love animals, with a special affinity for the polar bear and elephant (and my sweet kitty 'rissa), write every chance I get (I have a Master's in creative writing), enjoy experimenting with my cameras, and love to make
jewelry. I'm looking into Etsy, and will probably set up an account there once I've finished with school and can spend a little more time on it.
I love to read, but don't always have the time or the motivation to do so. You won't see a lot of books from my permanent collection on here; I like to use BC for those books i've read (or am reading) or for those that I've collected for a challenge/project
and plan to release only.
If you see something on my bookshelf you like that's available, pm me. I frequently do RABCKs (and am registered at www.rabck.com), but will also trade for a book or -cancelled- postage stamps. Yes, you read that right. More on that below.
I'm currently collecting cancelled postage stamps of all denominations and types (all countries) to raise funds for research for those with chiari malformation and syringomyelia. See www.asap.org, or www.conquerchiari.com I was diagnosed with a chiari malformation
in April of 2005, and underwent brain surgery in the latter half of 2006 to repair it. All postage stamps should be in relatively good condition (not torn or cut) and have a 1/4" to 1/2" border around them.
