I have loved books and reading all my life. Reading is my favourite pastime and the best way to relax. I read many kinds of books and can't name my favourite genre of fiction, but here are some books I've enjoyed, to give you a clue (not in any particular order,
and there are many others, but these just popped into my mind first):
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee The Ground Beneath Her Feet by Salman Rushdie The Secret History by Donna Tartt Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett Auringon asema by Ranya ElRamly
Some of my favourite authors: Ian McEwan, Cormac McCarthy, Siri Hustvedt, Paul Auster, Juha Itkonen, Monika Fagerholm, Sofi Oksanen, Nick Hornby...
I also like travel books and biographies.
Apart from books, I like music, movies, yoga, gardening, knitting and traveling.
Feel free to PM me if there's anything on my shelf that interests you!
Book from Every Country Challenge: I'm going to read a book from every country of the world. The rules are simple - either the author is from or the story is set in the country in question. I have kept a book diary in livejournal since January
2004, so I decided to start the challenge from there (to make it a little bit easier :)).
Here is the list of countries (in Finnish) and the books I've read so far. If the book is in my BC bookshelf, a new window opens with the book's journal when the title is chosen from the list.
There are 192 countries on the list. So far I have read books from 62 countries. (Actually, Tibet is not on the United Nations country list, but I added it after I read a book about it.)
They come and come. Ringbooks come in herds, that's what you say! You made a basket on your mail box, otherwise the frontdoor woldn't open when you return from work. You know your postman by
christian name.
