Extended Profile
I work in Henley on Thames, and live near Wallingford with my family (my man and 2 small boys). I love to read and even more I love to write.
I own a huge number of books so many I have never bothered counting them. I have been suffering from Stuff Overload since having children, and have been releasing my books into the wild for the past two or three years without realising that I could have been having much more fun doing it!
After a brisk start I haven't done so much Book Crossing lately. I find it too distracting/ nerve-wracking. I still enjoy perusing the website though and writing about books read.
Currently reading:
In the Red Kitchen by Michele Roberts
and
The Half-blood Prince (read aloud to my children, what a pleasure that has been!)
To Read next?
Some Muriel Spark novels
I have read 29 books since 1st Jan, thus more or less keeping up with my once book per week habit!!
Recently read (June - July 2007):
29 Slouching towards Bethelhem by Joan Didion (far more grim than I was expecting)16/7/07
28 Excellent Women - Barbara Pym finished 10/7/07
27 Madame Bovray - Flaubert 4/7/07 (much easier read than expected)
26 Vox - Nicholson Baker 20/6/07 (which, sadly makes me release that there is no subsitute for doing it!! All talk just isn't enough!!)
25 Saville - David Story (part of my reading Booker winners project)18/6/07
24 HP and the Order of the Pheonix (see above HBP)4/6/07
