Extended Profile
I can no longer attend bookcrossing/or postcrossing for personal reasons and circumstances - (22.02.2019) - and I have finished my activities today. Please do not send me pm´s or letters.
Please excuse me if this is unexpectedly. I myself am more than disappointed that I had to make that decision in the last few days. It was not an easy one. But I do not see an alternative.
Please find in the forum members for organising the following RABCK's:
- Easter exchange game
- Samhain exchange game
- Calendar exchange game
Thank you all for the nice years since 2008.
Thank you for the many and nice acquaintances.
Good luck and all the best to you all and bookcrossing :)

Who is Simson Shilitoe?
Simson Shilitoe (played by Sean Connery), a frustrated poet, is behind in his alimony payments. Simson becomes belligerent when he cannot find the inspiration to finish his big poem so he tries to see the psychiatrist Dr. West, who claims to be able to cure writer's block. Simson ends up with doing silly things while trying to evade the subpoena servers and finish his poem.
From "A Fine Madness" (Simson ist nicht zu schlagen), british-american movie 1966

Hi Everyone!
If you want something to know about me, I tell you some hints. The character of Simson-Shilitoe is only used for Bookcrossing and is not similar to my own character.
I joined bookcrossing since November 2008 (after hearing about it at work). I like reading books for many years but I have no special preferences in literature. Some of my favourite authors are Daphne du Maurier, Jules Verne, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dashiell Hammett, Alberto Vasquez-Figueroa, Edgar Wallace, Ian Fleming and Heinz Erhardt a German comedian, actor, and poet of the 50s and 60s who is famous for his countless pun poems.
Most of my books (about 700), which I got from a second-hand online-bookshop (www.booklooker.de) are not registered yet. I read books in German and English, sometimes a little bit in French. So Bookcrossing helps to use and develop my English and French knowledge in a playful way. And I get a chance to learn more about other people and countries.
If you would like to exchange books or you find books on my Available-list you would like to read, please feel free to PM me.

I am only a virtual Frenchman.
The French border is only a few kilometres (23) away from the village in Germany where I live. I often make trips, especially by road bicycle, to Lauterbourg (German: Lauterburg), Wissembourg (German: Weißenburg), or Haguenau 3 little towns, which are communes in the Bas-Rhin department in the Region Alsace or to Bitche, which is a commune in the departement Moselle in the Region Lorraine in north-eastern France. All 4 towns are situated on the German border and not far from the German city of Karlsruhe.
A lot of French people work at the Daimler-Benz factory in Wörth, Germany. And a lot of Germans work in the Règion Alsace. We call these people "Grenzgänger", "Grenzpendler" (Grenze = border, Pendler = commuter).
I don`t work or live in France but I like it to be a virtual French bookcrosser and Grenzpendler much more than to be a German bookcrosser.
