Extended Profile
Hi! Like everyone here, I love to read. I've been reading for as long as I can remember. My mother says she taught me to read when I was two years old because it was the only thing she could think of to stop me constantly talking! Obviously I love reading, or I wouldn't be here, but I hadn't realised there were so many other readers out there. I think this site is great! It's so addictive, great fun, and very friendly.
My current catch rate for truly wild releases (not from OBCZs or meet-ups) is 24.1% (83 catches from 344 releases). My BC plans for this year are to wild release as many as possible, and to try to find new release spots. I'm a very self-conscious wild-releaser unless I'm with others and I really want to improve that! I also want to meet more bookcrossers and to attend a few more meetups.
What I like to read
My bookshelf doesn't really reflect my preferred reading, as I'm only registering anything I'm prepared to trade or release at the moment, and a lot of those have been bought for the purpose of releasing. If there's anything still marked TBR that you'd like, let me know and I'll advance it up the queue!
My favourite genres are mysteries/ thrillers. I'm a big fan of Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Harlan Coben, John Grisham, Ruth Rendell, Mary Higgins Clark and Michael Crichton. Having said that though, I'll read just about anything!
Trades and RABCKs
I will consider trades within the UK or overseas. If you see something you would like on my bookshelf, please PM me and I'll see if there's a book of yours I'd like in return. Of course, if you have something on my wish list (see below) I'd be really keen to trade with you!! If there's nothing on your bookshelf that appeals, I may be willing to gift you the book. It depends on how the postal budget stands at the time, where you are, how politely you ask etc. etc.
I'm not going to list the bookrings I've signed up for, there are far too many, but here are the bookrings I've started.
A Painted House
Drowning Ruth
The Pact
And this is the UK-only Anything Fiction bookbox I've started.

And finally a little bit about me. I live in Bexley in South East London with my husband and our small son, and I work in Kent. When I'm not reading (or working), I like cross stitch, knitting, photography, card-making, scrapbooking, music and drama, walking and keeping fit.
