This picture is a self-portrait in my library, January 2007.

**Please journal the book when you receive it/find it so I don't worry about it! You can always re-journal the book later after you have read it and/or when you pass it along!**

I am a bibliophile with an eclectic taste in books. I read in virtually every genre. My daughters are both prolific readers, and I share books back and forth with them.

Some of my favorite modern authors are: Chuck Palahniuk, Ridley Pearson, Michael Connelly, Ursula LeGuin, Margaret Atwood, Amy Tan, Barbara Kingsolver, Billie Letts, Harlan Coben, Tony Hillerman, Eoin Colfer, Jasper Fforde, Sue Monk Kid, Lisa Gardner, Lorna Landvik, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, and Lilith Saintcrow.

Some of my favorite classic novels are: Wuthering Heights, Main Street, Moll Flanders, Jane Eyre, To Kill a Mockingbird, Sister Carrie.

I also enjoy historical non-fiction, biography, and any type of literary "theory." I LOVE drama from the Elizabethan and Restoration periods. I usually love anything from Britain, specifically England.

My dissertation was on Clemence Dane (Winifred Ashton), who was an early 20th century British playwright, novelist, screenwriter, painter, and activist. I am ALWAYS looking for her books and plays. If you have one you'd like to sell, (or you just feel like sending me something) I'm your gal to contact!

Some of my plays have been produced locally, though no one ever gets the idea to PAY THE AUTHOR!!!!! I write short fiction and recently finished writing a historical young adult novel set in London. I've started researching and writing my second young adult novel set on a modern ranch in Western Kansas.

Besides reading, I enjoy movies--especially foreign and independent ones! I am an English and theatre teacher and have taught at both the high school and college levels. Currently, I'm an independent book reviewer with a monthly bookshelf at Midwest Book Review, and a pretty steady reviewing gig with School Library Journal. I teach high school in Jefferson County, Kentucky and adjunct English at Indiana University Southeast and University of Phoenix.
