Why am I here? Firstly, I'm a book lover, and secondly I have many thousands of books (two to three thousand, I think!) which I would dearly love to share with others who may enjoy them as I have.
My previous method of passing books on was to donate them to Charity Shops, but I'm always wary of the fact that a lot of them seemed to end up in a skip (Dumpster, for those of you across the pond.), so I'm glad to discover a way of letting others enjoy the books, whilst hopefully getting that little frisson of excitement that I'm sure follows when one is caught.
I look after an OBCZ at the Hole in the Wall Bar & Restaurant in Stratford upon Avon. See: stage.bookcrossing.com/---/121207" target="_blank">Bar Room Bar OBCZ
It's about a hundred yards from Shakespeare's birthplace so I'm hoping that lots of tourists will visit and take books when they go home. At the moment the foreign chefs from the 'hole' and other local restaurants are using the books to teach themselves English as they don't have UK library cards. Personally I think that's a great use of an OBCZ.
So, having wakened some of my books from their shelving slumbers I'd better get on with the task of setting them free, they'll only get grumpy if I wake them up and don't take them out.
