I originally joined bookcrossing while living in Pittsburg, Kansas. I graduated from Pittsburg State University in December 2008 (English major with an emphasis in creative writing) and moved to St. Louis shortly after. However, due to circumstances beyond
my control, I am now back in Pittsburg until further notice.
In November 2009 I was, for the first time, involved in a writing challenge called National Novel Writing Month (a.k.a. Nano Wrimo). For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically a challenge to write a 50,000+ "novel" over the course of a month
with quantity taking precedence over quality. I had initially titled mine, "A Course of Canine Events", but in light of the actual content that ended up appearing on paper, I will likely change the title. I won this challenge once again in 2010.
Also, as of January 2010, I have started a blog devoted to my reading project RAB-PIA (Read a Book, Pass it along), which has been more or less inspried by Bookcrossing. My project involves buying or otherwise obtaining (preferably used) books for the sake
of reading once and then sending them releasing them so that others can enjoy them.
Though I have yet to obtain paid employment, I am currently a volunteer for a thrift store in my hometown called The Doggie Bag whose proceeds go to our regional branch of the Humane Society. It is also where I have bought a lot of the books that I have registered
here, at least in the last year.
