I have been using audio books for the past 2 years,because I've had difficulty reading, so I haven't participated in setting books out in the wild.

I hope anyone finding my books will journal their find, and after reading the book, set it out again.

Intrigued by finding a book for 'FREE'? I am hoping your curiosity of finding a [free] book, and reading it, leads you to registering your find, and then setting it 'free' again.

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, and I like it much better when I can 'listen' to books while doing something else (quilting, puzzles,etc).

I love passing on books to others. I had been doing this long before I found Bookcrossing. Hopefully, those I've set out have been picked up and read by someone, passed on (left somewhere)for someone else to find, or just put on your own bookshelves. BX not only provides reading material for others to share, but validates the whole 'recycling' idea.

Many of the books I set in the wild have been given to me, and when I tell that person that someone has recorded the find, he/she is very excited. I have not read all the books I have been given, as some are just not my taste in reading, or I am getting more than I have time to read; but, I want to share these with you.

Each book is put out in memory of my father. I can still picture him reading by kareosene lantern, during the long cold winter nights (in Alaska) while he stayed up to keep the fires burning. During the summer, he read in any spare moments he had. He always encouraged us to read by providing books, magazines, encyclopedias, world books, and Child Craft books. We had them in our home before our tiny school had them.
