I figure I'm about halfway through my life (I plan to live to be over a hundred), and books have contributed to much of what I am. I have shelves full of favourites that I would never ever part with, and piles of what I call "once-ers", books that I'd be willing to part wtih. Those are the ones that I find easiest to pass along, but I sometimes feel as though I'm forcing my friends to take them.

I'm looking forward to the "catch and release" program of Book Crossing. A lot of life-changing ideas have come my way through unexpected channels, and I think it will be fun to see what my books end up doing for others.
