NEWS: I have a baby boy born in November 2009!
I originally come from Essex in England, but I moved to The Netherlands in 2002. I live in Hengelo which is quite a nice place. I have always had a love of books. I used to get really excited going to the library as a child. My mother, my brother and I were
always reading something! These days I like to read Jodi Picoult books and those from Val McDermid, thrillers, humour, poetry, chick-lit, sad stories and others. It gets very lonely here sometimes and reading helps me to feel better.I am now also making a
collection of children's books in English. I intend to speak to my baby in English and read English stories to my baby. So anything is appreciated from the classics like Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh, Little Grey Rabbit, to the plain, but colourful baby
board books with first words on them. Even books for older children, (because I still love reading them myself, and so does my mum!)
I love cats, and I miss my cat Mulan who lives with my mother. I left her there when I moved to my own flat in 2008. (I also moved out of that flat in July 2009 and moved into a house with my fiance).
I like meeting people and I have a good sense of humour.
I have not been a member of bookcrossing very long as I have not got many books available at the moment because I left all my old books in England when I moved here, and almost every book that I buy for myself to read, I want to keep, and so I do not register
them! But that could change! My book shelf is gradually building up.I wish I could say that I have a big TBR or AVL shelf, but I don't.(Not yet)! Money is scarce so I grab any English language books that come my way as I read, read and read! Bookcrossing is
a great way to enjoy books.
It is so hard to find English books here where I live.I have put a few books on my wishlist, but there are really so many that I would love to read.
Thank you to anyone who decides to send me a wishlist book, or similar. It would be very gratefully received, and I would be happy to send you something back in return.
I had problems in the past receiving PMs, but now I have changed my email address and I can receive them. Sorry to anyone who PM'd me and didn't get a reply! PMs are now most welcome!
