"Santa Claus Village"

"Helsinki, Finland"

A Photo

From

Helsinki.fi

I chose this photo because

it is everything that I imagine the season to be -

snow, skiing, Christmas trees and hey! -

it's Santa Claus Village!

"A Christmas candle is a lovely thing;

It makes no noise at all,

But softly gives itself away;

While quite unselfish, it grows small."

Eva K. Logue

"There's nothing sadder in this world

than to awake Christmas morning

and not be a child."

Erma Bombeck

"Give all to love; obey thy heart"

Ralph Waldo Emerson

"So remember while December Brings

the only Christmas day,

In the year let there be Christmas

In the things you do and say."

Auld Lang Syne

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,

for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and days of auld lang syne?

And here's a hand, my trusty friend

And gie's a hand o' thine

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet

For auld lang syne.

I am a dreamer. I love to read and write poetry.

I am an October - born with the traditional love of peace,

harmony and the lot, that are said to be associated with Librans.

I treasure quiet times - not so much the

quiet times of exterior as of interior.

Friends and friendships mean a lot to me.

I am more on the quiet side, others tell me -

you'd never know it from my posts now, would you?

I enjoy pop, country and some rock music,

but I do not like heavy metal much and I do not like jazz at all.

I like taking long walks and enjoying nature for

what it is..not that my work gives me much time

for this, though. I like animals.

Sunsets, beautiful sceneries -- even just seeing

virtual representations of them --

make my soul soar.

I write poetry to sort out my thoughts,

my turmoils and my troubles.

I write poems when I can find no ordinary words

by which to help another.

There are times I just love to sit

and soak up nature..

my perfect time is when

nature is not too noisy...

when the silence speaks.

I have many, many hobbies

and collect practically everything.

The Human Jackdaw.. :) :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To be the best friend I can be
to all who need a friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Get hurt -- There are many who would say

that I shouldn't do it

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I value friends
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Greater love hath no man than this,

that a man lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:13

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reading, music, writing poetry and short stories,
corresponding, travelling, philately,
numismatics, collecting all sorts of things :)
... much more
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sunsets, beaches, kittens on wobbly legs,

waterfalls, flowers, scenic views,

rainbows, deep friendships, quotations,

quizzes, literati, poetry, peace,

philosophy & logic, stretches of water..
