I live in the best place on earth - the Southwest corner of British Columbia, and am addicted to 'light' reading. I read to relax, and don't enjoy getting into the heavy thought-provoking stuff much - there's enough of those issues around us in every day life. That's just my preference. Call me a romantic, I also like movies with happy endings; pretty clouds, trees, and animals.
I enjoy the challenge of BookCrossing because it makes you think of creative ways to pass on your books instead of taking the easy way out and donating them to a charity. I also love the concept of random gifting to a stranger who might enjoy it as much as I did.
