I found this site after discovering a coffee table book about middle age castles in the South Beach cafe.

My reading interests are varied and I will read anything compulsively if there is nothing better available - think cereal packets, metric conversion tables in cook books, The Alchemist, etc.

My actual reading interests tend towards fairly intellectual (Tolstoy, Camus, Joyce) or arthouse (Zadie Smith, Umberto Eco) novels, but I find that I only have the mental energy to read a few of these a year. On the lighter side, I've recently discovered Nick Hornby and Chuck Palahniuk, and can devour these with alacrity.

I also love really well executed historical fiction by the likes of Gore Vidal, Mary Renault and Robert Graves.

Two days a week I take time off work to look after my son, and we've had fun recently hunting for books and releasing some around the city.
