Extended Profile
Hugh's just zis guy, you know?

Well, OK, I guess there's a little more to it than that. I'm a country boy from central New York State, but I've lived in the New York City area for over six years now. I'm a computer programmer at Goldman Sachs in Manhattan but if you met me you probably wouldn't suspect it. My mate and I moved to the New Jersey suburbs in 2004 because the city drives me crazy, and now I'm deliriously happy to be able to hike in the woods every day.

I enjoy reading, but I'm fairly narcoleptic so that slows me down much more than I'd like. I have always loved science fiction, but for the last few years I've been focusing on history. Not only has it gotten easier lately, it's become an obsession. I keep a pondseeker.blogspot.com target="_blank">web log about my ongoing process of learning history.

Like many BookCrossers, my bookshelf does not reflect my reading tastes. Most of the Star Trek books belonged to my mother, and the romances and thrillers came from a friend who needed to clear out some shelf space.

Please consider donating a copy of Master and Commander to my ongoing efforts to inroduce more people to Mr. O'Brian's great work.

Trading
I enjoy trading, so don't hesitate to message me; I'm willing to consider parting with many of my books that are marked "Permanent Collection". If you want one of my available books but don't want to trade, I will be happy to mail it to you for the cost of postage.
