**ANOTHER WEIRD UPDATE ON THE SOAP OPERA THAT IS NOW MY LIFE, AKA "AS THE STOMACH TURNS:"

I’m discovering more and more books that have gone missing during The Not-So-Great Move of 2009. I always change a lost book’s category (they’re all under “travelling”) as soon as I find it, but sometimes it takes a wish list/trade request for the truth to come out.

Also been trying to RABCK a lot of books that I like and want someone to get who would really want them. Feel free to check out my "stock" and request what you'd like. I'm still financially shaky, so I might not to able to mail things out quickly as I'd like.

Reminder: I'm now doing HOMECROSSING again. The house in New Hampshire has two guest bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, which is very exciting. It's not that terribly far to Boston. It could be worse, after all.

If you want to read my weirdo bio, please scroll down.

Please stop by again & see what's up with me.

Bevorzugte BC E-Mail Adresse: BC_Germanophile@ yahoo punkt com. Besser als PM!

**NEUES VON MIR, AUS DER SEIFENOPER "SCHLECHTE ZEITEN, NOCH SCHLECHTERE ZEITEN:"

BIN JETZT HOMECROSSER! Schaut mal vorbei, echt!!

Happy Bookcrossing! Schaut bitte mal vorbei, um zu sehen, ob ich noch lebe.

***

I grew up in New York City, but left just before my 20th birthday to go study German in Heidelberg, Germany in 1972. Liked it there so much, I stayed and stayed and stayed --- until June 2001, when I came back to the USA with my husband after his retirement from the military. We settled in Northwest Michigan, 50 miles north of Traverse City, in a town I came to loathe. After his death in 2004, I relocated to New Hampshire, and here I am today. I'm having a hard time getting used to my home country after nearly 3 decades in Europe, and my attitude now is, "where I am at that moment is home." My family members are all dead, and, being an only child, I'm alone with my 4 cats, but not lonely. I like to read a lot, in English as well as German and Swedish, and I love the BookCrossing idea1

I register books on BC that I have read myself and don't wish to keep in my permanent collection, or books that were given to me, or ones I just picked up at used bookstores for fun. If you see a book without a "star" rating, then I've not read it, but have just acquired it for here. Many books don't reflect my own personal taste, by the way.

Many of my former books are now parked on other continents, and I have met some incredibly nice people here. I am truly thankful for finding this site!

KURZE ÜBERSETZUNG:

Zu mir: geboren u. aufgewachsen in New York City.

You're the United Nations!

Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to
completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long
way to go.  You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each
other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of
beating each other about the head and torso.  Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result.  But your heart
is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.
