Extended Profile
I don't remember learning to read--I've just always had a book in front of me. So books have been friends, entertainment, inspiration, comfort, etc., my whole life.
I love well-researched historical fiction, skillfully crafted mysteries, intricately plotted psychological thrillers--and whatever else may grab my attention. In non-fiction--history, linguistics, archaeology, spirituality and anything that piques my interest.
I get to share books with my reading-ready granddaughter these days. We're on Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh now, but soon she'll be old enough for Hobbits and Middle Earth.
When I'm not reading, I love the abovementioned child (and her mother), Maine, research, genealogy, nuance, learning, emotional courage, and the truth in all its forms.
I'm glad to have discovered Bookcrossing. Trades are welcome. Must confine mailings to USA, except in rare circumstances or if overseas postage is provided. As others disclaim, my available shelf does not necessarily reflect my own reading tastes. My PC and TBR shelves do!
