*** FREE THE BOOKS! ***

I'm a 20-something professional who lives in the inner-city in Melbourne. I work in the 'burbs, and that's where I plan to release most of the books -- there are just too many literary works being suffocated amongst the pollution and frenetic pace of inner-city life.

Free... free... FREE! Free tham all! Now is the time for literary liberation, my friends! Rise up and release your cultured pages from the bindings of their bookshelves. Set them free -- release them to their proper habitat, let them be digested in the wild, and studied in the open.

I have a dream. That one day we will rise up and live out the true meaning of the creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all books are created equal."

I have a dream. That one day on a park bench in Suburbia, the books of former readers and the tomes of former hoarders will found and shared amongst strangers.

I have a dream. That one day even the most selfish of collectors, the same child who refused to swap their toys and comic books with others, would release their grip on their personal libraries and transform them into an bibliotheic oasis of literary communion.

I have a dream. That my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the amount of books upon their shelves, but by the extent of their literary character.

I have a dream...

If you read something - set it free. Take the time to review the book. Make your comments. Register it here at www.bookcrossing.com and release it into the wild again...

...you never know where it might end up, or who may end up reading it!
