Extended Profile
I'm a Chartered Secretary (like a lawyer, but honest) with interests in archaeology, history, mythology, genealogy, art history and photography.
I have also set up a separate bookshelf for my partner
Bugzbunny in order to keep books I pick up for him separate from my own.
Reading in 2012
I'm continuing with the "no-theme" theme in 2012, and looking for a balance of crime and more literary fiction with a variety of UK and non-UK settings. I also plan to read as many as possible of the books which have been longest on my shelf.
However I will continue, for interest's sake, to annotate each book with the (non-UK) country or region in which the action is set. In addition, authors I've not read before are marked with an asterisk (*).
What I'm reading now
Fatherland - Robert Harris* (Germany)
The Quiet American - Graham Greene (Vietnam)
Next up
Moonrise, Sunset - Gopal Baratham* (Singapore)
What I've read so far in 2012
Where Angels Fear to Tread - E M Forster (Italy)
North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell
The Information Officer - Mark Mills* (Malta)
Burmese Days - George Orwell (Burma)
The Minotaur - Barbara Vine
