I've been devouring books ever since getting read to as a toddler (yes, I could be a poster child for reading). Couldn't wait for the elementary school to teach me to read so just went ahead and taught myself. I went on to devour one or more books a day (much harder to do now that I'm grown up!). Now I read some for serious digestion with a little book club, some for sheer entertainment, and, once in a while, a classic I probably should've read in school at some point, because I figure it'll be good for me (kind of like eating my vegetables).

A friend I've known since elementary school introduced me to BC. Since then, I've released some books into the wild and others under more controlled circumstances. About 9 months into releasing, I finally logged my first wild release that was caught!

Some of my recent favorites:
Search for the Golden Moon Bear, by Sy Montgomery
Red Rabbit, by Tom Clancy
The Physician, by Noah Gordon
Midwives, by Chris Bohjalian
Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books
Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta books

Some of my BookCrossings:
Human Limbs bookray (ResQgeek)
Miscellaneous Bookbox #2 (Kafka)
The Anatomist (Tho)
Ground Zero and Beyond (soccermom11s)
The First Time (oceanss)
Golden Fox (Toadee)
The Tattoo (fanclub)

Awaiting (coordinator):
Report from Ground Zero: The Story of the Rescue Efforts at the World Trade Center by Dennis Smith, bookray (MaryZee)
How to Cook A Tart (mellion108)
A Midwife's Tale bookring (Morgail)
The Crimson Petal and the White (Earthdance)

I was sponsoring a bookbox (Science and Medicine Fiction and Non-Fiction). It went out in January 2004 and after about half of its stops was never heard from again. My belated apologies to those who wanted in on it and didn't get to participate.
