For all the new, copies, and op-shop books purchased just for releasing through BookCrossing, and those generously donated for registration and/or release. Thank you.
Based in Croydon, 'Doorway to the Dandenongs', in Melbourne's outer east, it is truely hoped you enjoy the books you come across. Think of it as a present !
Once registered at this wonderful, spam-free, kid-safe BookCrossing site, you are also able to set a 'release alert' to be notified when books are released near you through the 'Go Hunting' section.
Why stop there ? This is also a chance to increase awareness of diabetes, hence the virtual bookshelf name registered during National Diabetes Week, Australia 2010. Diabetes Australia celebrates National Diabetes Week annually to raise awareness about diabetes in Australia. The campaign aims to educate the community about the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and how this disease can be prevented.
A full list of all Member Associations with a global map, facts & figures and much more, is available through the International Diabetes Federation website: www.idf.org.
So if you, or someone you know, has diabetes, please consider also registering with the world directory for people active in the prevention of diabetes: Network active in Diabetes Prevention.
Add us to your 'friends' list, send a message. Request a book for yourself or readers in your support group to share while promoting your own community - and please - release a book for World Diabetes Day !
The 'WishList' attached to this virtual bookshelf will help promote 1001-library and 1001KidsLibrary. Yet if you do not wish to register with BookCrossing, or send/receive books, you can always support the BookCrossing team through KIVA.org.
Go for it ! JennyG
