Extended Profile
Reading is not a passion or a hobby, it is a way of life. As a child I would sit absorbed in a book in the middle of my own birthday party. I knew the text on the Weetabix packet by heart. By now I am a little more sociable, but I
always have a book with me for emergencies. And don't attempt to talk to me on the morning train!
I am one of those people who seems to be interested in everything. Accordingly, I will read just about anything you shove in my hands (even genres or authors that have disappointed me in the past, I'm a slow learner:). My reading taste is pretty eclectic. Favrourites are Jon McGregor, Shakespeare, Terry Pratchett, Daniel Kahneman, Naomi Klein and Dutch author Ferdinand Bordewijk. My favourite book is Watership Down. The most impressive thing I have ever read is Crime and Punishment. I can often be found buried in popular-science, social psychology and anything about Formula 1 racing. Next to reading, I fill my spare time with watching Formula 1 and rugby, studying for a degree with the Open University, crafting, and enjoying endless glasses of real ale with my beloved.
I am happy to receive requests for books that are marked available (or TBR, as they will become available in due course), but please forgive me if you don't hear back - it's probably just that 17 other things are vying for my attention at the same time.
