When my first child was born, I was in this excellent opportunity to decide what it was I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I could go back to work, or stay home with my baby and find a new career. I decided on the latter. What could be better? Staying home WITH my children AND doing what I love!

It took me only two months to realize that I had been grooming myself for this career my whole life. I have had jobs writing, researching, investigating and public relations. Coupled with my passions for food, languages and culture...I was on my way! I have a long way to go to be where I want to be, but I can't believe how far I have come since early 2000. I am a freelance food writer. My cookbook reviews can be found in the Library Journal. I have developed recipes that have been published in Turning Leaf Wine's brochure, Bon Appetit magazine, Better Homes & Garden and in Cook's Country (Cook's Illustrated's sister publication). Articles I have written have appeared at AllRecipes.com, Garden Plate magazine, Kiwi Magazine and Venice Gulf Coast Living.

I am working on my first cookbook.

I like armchair travel books, Latin American authors, international cookbooks, food reference books, food writing, classic horror, foreign film, world music, cultural anthropology, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Greece, Japan, Halloween, medieval times, 1800's, pagan ideas, languages, beading jewelry, making my own lotions, animals, family and friends. I collect postcards from around the world, as well as coins.

I am open to trades from my available books only. I may be able to read something on my to be read pile quicker if you request. You are welcome to keep any book that was once mine as part of your Permanent Collection. Here are some of my wishes:

~~~Send me a book that's on my wish list and I'll donate $5 to BookCrossing, the wings go to you or a member of your choice! Please PM me first if you are interested!~~~
