Extended Profile
I have two girls, 11 and almost 4. I work part-time at a local college in Student Services. I did a lot of BookCrossing when I lived in the Chicago area (my screen name is based on an Chicago alternative newspaper...) Now I live in Manitowoc, Wisconsin...
about 45 minutes south of Green Bay on Lake Michigan.
My bookshelf isn't a very good indicator of my reading preferences... I get most of my reading material from the library, and a lot of the books I release are ones bought or given to me for the sole purpose of releasing them! In general, I like books in the literature/fiction genre. My favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver, Alice Walker, Anne Tyler, Janet Evanovich and John Irving. Recently have enjoyed _The Secret Life of Bees_, _The Lovely Bones_, and _Bee Season_ a lot. I would also highly recommend _Sea Glass_ by Anita Shreve. I'm a pretty undiscriminating reader, though, and will read just about anything that looks interesting or was recommended by friends. This is good for found books, I'm willing to give anything a try!
I started a BookCrossing Zone when I lived in Oak Park, IL. If you're in the neighborhood, it's a coffeeshop called Some Things Brewing at 906 S. Oak Park Avenue. (It's immediately south of the Eisenhower expressway, just a few doors down from the Blue line Oak Park el stop.)
Happy BookCrossing!
