I like the "magic mushroom writers", like Henry Miller, Kerouac, Vonnegut, Burroughs, and other more benign varieties like the early-ish John Irving, William Wharton (Pride), and Hemingway, Christopher Moore (Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff and Fluke), and, of course, the daddy of them all: Hunter Thompson.

Strangely enough, I live with a "I don't want to have to think" reader, my wife of nearly 16 years. I recently read a mondo-bizarro book called "Booga" from a small press in Maryland, Broken Watch. Author's name: Hayes Brown.

Oh, yeah, I loved Toffler and Orwell in college and dig Sherwood Anderson, Flannery O'Connor, and Tolstoy.

Read "Rosebud" and "Glimmer Train" literary quarterlies with regularity. Highly recommend both.

"Give that which you have and you will receive "nothingness" in return. Wholeness awaits at the summit..."
