I started devouring books when I was very young. By the time I was a teenager, I was staying up very late to read; if I heard my parents coming up the stairs - they were nighthawks - I'd quickly turn off my lamp. My dad caught on to this and started checking out how hot the light bulb was... ouch! Not to be foiled, I resorted to using a flashlight. One night, however, I didn't hear my mom coming down the hall towards my bedroom... I fumbled with the flashlight, managing to get it under my covers, but in my haste couldn't get it shut off. "What is that?" she demanded. "I don't know, mom, but isn't it a little late for you and dad to still be up?" Well, they never did win and I finished high school feeling very sleepy. Now I'm working towards an Honours English and Comparative Literature degree, and working as a writer. I'm delighted to have found bookcrossing...
