Extended Profile
The Community Book Exchange is located in front of 4215 1st Ave S, Minneapolis, MN. This "little library" will be an Official BookCrossing Zone.
The main level has books appropriate for adults, teens and kids for borrowing or exchange, including BookCrossing books. A light turns on when you open the door to help you see the books after dark and turns off when you latch the door closed. The attic is an unlighted miniature reading room and will have a rotating art exhibit, visible to those standing in front of the book exchange.
The book exchange has been built with 100% re-used lumber and roofing shingles and 90% salvaged paint. Hardware, adhesives, light fixture and plexiglass are new materials. The exterior of the book exchange is faux stucco and dark brown wood trim to match the human sized house behind it.
