Extended Profile
Thought that I'd update my profile (having nothing else better to do at the moments).

I'm nearly 36 (getting older but hopefully not too saggy), am married with a house that is in need of an interior decorator (still!). At the moment we are trying and not getting very far with sorting out the hallway. There is still too much paint to strip and then wood to sort out. I share the house with hubby (obviously) and several goldfish (number depends on how well they are feeling after being tormented by the cats). We have two cats - one is sleek and a bit of a mindless thing, the other has a paunch that swings when she lops down the garden. Their favourite activity seems to be to shed hair everywhere they sleep

Reading is my form of escape and relaxation. I love the feeling of losing yourself so thoroughly in a book, that the real world is shock. Although I have a bit of an ecletic range is reading, my main loves are science fiction (Anne McCaffrey), fantasy (Guy Gavriel Kay), Arthurian legend (Stephen Lawhead) and epics (David Eddings, Tolkein (although I don't have the time for JRR anymore)).

I have recently started to read popular science books - I am a science teacher in an 11 - 18 school.

I've just been doing some clearing out of book shelves and realised, to my horror, that I've forgotten several types of readng matter. First - Terry Pratchett. Oh, my god, how could I forget him. I've got nearly every thing he's ever written. Secondly - Egypt, Pyramids, Pharoahs. I went to Egypt and now cannot wait to go back again. My dream job would be as an archaeologist and discover something fantastic. Thirdly - sewing. I do a lot of sewing and have gathered together a fair number of sewing books. Although the ones that I'm most interested in at the moment are the costume ones - just trying to persuade my niece to hand over some old Barbie dolls for me to dress up ;)
