Extended Profile
I discovered BookCrossing in July 2002. I am a graduate student in linguistics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. My main literary interests are: (non-fiction) linguistics, religion, religious history, and cultural studies; and (fiction) historical fiction, novels about music and musicians, international literature, and all kinds of other stuff. I also like (mainly Hebrew) poetry.

New project: I have set a goal for myself to actively try to read books set in as many countries (besides the U.S.) as possible. So far, the list of books read includes Afghanistan (The Kite Runner); Australia (Love You to Bits and Pieces); Bangladesh (Brick Lane); Belgian Congo (Poisonwood Bible); China (Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress); Ecuador (The Evolution of Jane); England (Jane Eyre, Emma, Hunting Unicorns, Slammerkin, Brick Lane, many others); France (Da Vinci Code, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, others?); Germany (The Tiger by the River); India (Life of Pi, The Tiger by the River); Iran (Tales of Two Cities); Ireland (Angela's Ashes);Israel (Black Box, A Perfect Peace, The Nimrod Flipout, many others); Italy (Angels and Demons); Mexico (On Borrowed Words); Portugal (The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon); Russia (Anna Karenina); Spain (A Thousand Orange Trees) ....list in progress....(not updated for a while)

Currently reading: I'm not logging on often enough these days to keep this up-to-date! :(

My Wish List(<---link): I am updating this as I think of or run across things. Yes, I realize some of them are unlikely to come to me through BookCrossing, but—take a look, maybe you can help me.......

And keep an eye on my bookshelf to see if there's anything you're interested in. I am working on adding books I have lying around. Even if it's TBR, just ask! I will be happy to trade.
