We're entering an important week for book lovers: on the 21st of April it is International Bookcrossing Day, when many bookcrossers shall be releasing lots of books, and on the 23rd it is Saint George's Day, when Catalans give their loved ones a red rose (if the receiver's a female) and a book. The rose-giving tradition dates back to the 15th century whilst offering a book to your husband/boyfriend was introduced at the beginning of the 20th century. Nowadays, however, Catalan people give a book to all their loved ones regarding of gender. Saint George's Day is one their most remarkable holidays and one that the nation cherishes with delight.
The 23rd of April has also been named World Book Day to commemorate the deaths of both William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes.

It is a fantastic way to celebrate the love of books and reading.
