"I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths, and a great fear of shallow living." - Anais Nin
"I am a siren, a mermaid, I know that I am beautiful while basking on the ocean's waves." - C. Joy Bell
Supporter of 'Save the British Postcard Campaign': http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1582858/Battle-to-save-postcards-from-extinction.html
I have quite eclectic tastes in books, but my true love is crime, mysteries & thrillers. From the classics (Conan Doyle, Collins, Christie), to present day authors (P.D.James, Ian Rankin, Jacqueline Winspear). Nothing beats curling up with a mug of Assam tea,
bar of chocolate & a cozy crime novel!
I also love the Classics (Gaskell, Austen, Brontes), contemporary fiction, womens literature, historical fiction (M.M.Kaye, Philippa Gregory), World War I & II fiction, biographies/memoirs (actors, musicians, sports, World War 1 & 2, politicians, royalty), Interior
Home Design/Style (aka property porn!), whatever is on the current bestsellers list. Dislike Sci-Fi, Horror & Fantasy (Harry Potter is the exception to this rule!).
I love living on the south coast of England, & am a keen walker. This gives me the opportunity to release books on coastal paths & even in the sea! One sea release was caught after 4 years at sea, by a student who was looking to practice sea-knots, & was amazed
to find a book about how to tie sea knots! Don't know what the book had been up to at sea for 4 years, but think a mermaid might have been involved somehow!
As you might have gathered from my avatar - I am fascinated by mermaids! Magical creatures - I was enthralled by them as a child. If there is such a thing as reincarnation -that's what I'd like to come back as please!
I also love ballet, theatre, musicals, art galleries, music, & art-house/foreign films. Love watching sport - particularly football, tennis (Murray & Nadal!), sailing & rowing.
I was beyond thrilled to discover Bookcrossing nine years ago, and whenever I visit this site I feel that I am among 'my people'!
