Recent Book Activity

About Me:

When I was about six, my cat bit my thumb while I was asleep, and I had to wear the damned thing wrapped up in a sling all summer. (My thumb, not the cat.) Since this meant I couldn't spend my entire three months swimming, as planned, I began a campaign to drive my mother crazy instead. She finally dragged me to the library and signed me up for my first library card, and I've been a raving reader ever since.

Lately, I've been reading a little more fiction, but I am very interested in human rights issues, environmental stuff, lots of dry non-fiction. I guess the fiction is a little bit of a break from all that. I've read some things lately that I normally wouldn't pick out, but to be fair, they are pretty engaging. I'm trying to get over the phobia that if I read something fun, I will be wasting time I could have spent on a classic (read: 'old' ) book.

7/7/05 Oh, I have been such a bad bookcrosser! If you are waiting for a bookring from me, it is on it's way today, and I heartily apologize for holding you up. I've been out of town for a couple of weeks, and am finally getting everything posted today.
