Several months ago my BookCrossing angel sent me Midwives, by Chris Bohjalian. When I saw this book, written by the same author, I picked it up eagerly.
I *love* this lyrical novel! It has just the right amount of tension and conflict to make it believable, and the characters are very well developed. The plot has to do with dowsing, the art of finding water -- a theme I never really expected to find in a work of fiction.
This book makes me want to read more books by the same author.

Cover art on my copy of the book is different from that shown on the BC website.

I actually had this on my own 'wish list' that I was too embarrassed to post because the wish list here was getting so long and I already have a lot of books TBR, how funny is that? Thank you so much for thinking of me! You may not see a journal entry for this soon, as I'm trying to read the books I have the longest to try to get them moving, but don't think I don't appreciate your kindness. I definitely DO, and was very touched by your surprise RABCK!
