In a horror mood at the moment & this is one I haven't read by an author I've previously enjoyed - thanks for making it availiable!

Oh dear....how disappointing. In the very early 1980s I read "Ghost Story", "Shadowland" "Floating Dragon" & "The Talisman" & was totally enthralled by them all. Having failed miserably to get into " Koko" I abandoned this author until his next collaboration with King ( which I loved), so was this going to be the book that would draw me back to the fold? Er...no!

It was an okay read but I wanted something that would pull me in with its depth & intrigue, a book that I just couldn't put down because that's how I remember feeling when I read the others. This just seemed shallow & the plotline fell way short of it's potential...an abandoned house for goodness sake is basic horror territory but this one just wasn't creepy! I found the Lily/Lucy scenario confusing....a ghost I can " accept" but how can she be 6 AND 19, maybe I've misunderstood because to be honest what with Ronnie's contrived contribution, by the (unconvincing) end, I was losing interest. Sorry Mr Straub but I'll be giving you a miss ' til you team up again with Mr King.
