The Sugar Queen

This was a great book.
The second one I have read by Sarra Addison Allen.
The characters in this book are so believeable you can see them in your mind.
You can see Josey's secret. Her closet full of sweets and treats.
You can picture Chloe, Jake, Adam, Margaret, and most importantly, Della Lee.
The fact that all of these women are intertwined with eachother, in some mysterious way is facinating. Especially as only two of them know, but have never shared the news with any one else
Each woman has a reason for being why they are. You quickly get a glimpse of Josey, but why are the others that way?
Margaret... was she beaten? unloved? un-cared for? does she miss her husband? the children she never had? her family?
Della Lee... is she happy, deep down? is her secret that big? that serious? or is she just looking for some attention?
Chloe is the most transparent of them all in many ways. I must say, her relationship with books facinates me. I wish I had that ;)
A great book. Even though a complete work of fiction, it ends by allowing the reader too look at their own lives. Are you a Della Lee? A Chloe? A Margaret? Or a Josey? All these women want to change something. A desire most women have, but do you have the guts to change? Or are you like Josey and have to be pushed into it?
