Journal Entry 1 by wingdutch-bookwing from Heerenveen , Fryslân (Friesland) Netherlands on Saturday, June 18, 2011
From the inside cover:
On a chilly February day two old friends meet in the throng outside a crematorium to pay their last respects to Molly Lane. Both Clive Linley and Vernon Halliday had been Molly's lovers in the day before they reached their current imminence, Clive as Britain's most succesfull modern composer, Vernon as editor of the quality broadsheet, The Judge. Gorgeous, feisty Molly had had other lovers too, notably Julian Garmony, Foreign Secretary, a notorious right-winger tipped to be the next prime minister.

In the days that follow Molly's funeral Clive and Vernon will make a pact that will have consequences neither has foreseen. Each will make a disastrous moral decision, their friendship will be tested to its limits and Julian Garmony will be fighting for his political life.

I liked the story, wasn't expecting the suicidepact turned wrong. I've enjoyed it more then I thought I would (based on the cover of the book which doesn't really attract.) But it was a quick read and that I also liked and didn't expect.

Third release for Team Racecar for BC-Monopoly. We had to release a book at a historic place.
Fort Ossenmarkt is one of the many forts that was part of the defense line of Amsterdam. When there was danger the area around it would be flooded with water. And men would shoot with cannons at the enemy.
Nowadays the fort is restored, even the town canal around it is still a part of it. And outside there is also a cannon standing, and that's where you'll find the book.
