I took the book 6 weeks, but it arrived! Thank you, also for the sweets and the bookmark.
As I tagged someone back with this book, I already got one, because I thought it was lost in the mail - but no trouble, as I think I would have bought a second copy to share anyway... I´m 2/3 through, and it started really well, got a bit too strange for me in the middle, but right now I´m starting to like it again... let´s see what else happens.
The story itself is rather difficult to tell in one sentence: at the beginning of the 20th century in Canada, a really young girl of middle east origin runs off with a young man from Irish/Scot origin, the first daughter is a gifted singer. More daughters are born, the first daughter gets pregnant... I don´t want to tell you too much so not to spoil the story, but some really strange things happen here!

Thank you very much Schwester for this book! Can't wait to get stuck in to it.

I finished the book and I thought it was absolutely amazing. It was the kind of book that I didn't want to end, I just wanted to keep on reading it, not only because of the plot, which was full of surprises, but of the way it is written. The characters are really special and their relationships interesting. And the writing style is just gorgeous.
