Doctor Who: The Runaway Train

Arriving on Earth in the midst of the American Civil War, the Doctor and Amy must get a posse together to help them retrieve an alien artefact that has fallen into the clutches of the Confederate Army. The terraforming device belongs to the Cei, a race of invaders who plan to use it to turn the planet into a new home world. But neither the Army nor the aliens are keen to let the Doctor and his gang interfere with their plans, and give chase across the Wild West. The only hope of escape for the Doctor and friends is to catch the 3.25 to Arizona and race along the newly-built transcontinental railroad...Written specially for audio by Oli Smith, and read by Matt Smith, "The Runaway Train" features the Doctor as played by Matt Smith in the acclaimed hit series from BBC Television. Matt Smith reads this exclusive audio story featuring the Eleventh Doctor and Amy.
ooof, Matt Smith is giving me a hard time! It's quite difficult to understand him on telly, but at least you still see what he's doing, pointing at or whom he's talking to. As an audiobook - almost impossible. Nevertheless I enjoyed listening to him just because of listening to him - who cares WHAT he's reading anyway? ;-)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I loved listened to it.
Thanks for the CDs which are soon on their way to the Henkerin.
Edit 24.09.2011:
As planned I listened to this audiobook on the way back... I tried the other two audiobooks but they just didn´t work for me on that day...
This is a good audiobook with the newest Doctor. I can see him in front of my inner eyes running around and causing confusion (in some cases to himself) ;-)
Spoiler in white mark to read:
This is my first Doctor Who story set in the Wild West! I have to admit to some major gaps in my history knowledge. I have no idea who were the "good guys" and who were the "bad guys". I know those in the south were those who kept slavery going... with side were they again? Or is this bevor all that? GAPS, as I said ;-)
But back to the story. The Doctor and Amy arrive and are greeted by a welcoming party - one that claims they have been hired by the Doctor to help him. Too bad he has no idea about it. He claims he does not need any help with what he plans to do (go and collect some dangerous alien device). They tell him he had wared them that he would say that and they were supposed to help non the less - hard to argue with that ;-)
The alien device had to end up in an army camp! I think all the shooting was a bit too much (in reality more people would have gotten hurt). The train-flight was nice, the plundge into the canyon inevitabel for any Wild West story and the end nice and Doctor-like ;-) Good story!
Danke fürs Schicken!
